The Murphy Center will be hosting the second annual Community Dinner on Friday August 4th, 2017.   The main fundraising mechanism for this event is through ticket sales.  There will be guest artwork for silent auction and a dozen or so “raffle” items but there will be no formal “ask” at the event.

The goals of the event are:

  • Bring the community together (those with housing and those without) to share a meal together
  • Raise awareness for homelessness
  • Raise awareness for the Murphy Center
  • Raise Funds to support the Murphy Center

There are two ways that you can support the MC:

  1. Purchase tickets for yourself, friends, and family for $50 each
  2. Purchase tickets for a guest of the Murphy Center (those receiving services at the MC)

The Murphy Center will be hosting the 4th annual Mission to Hope Walk on Saturday December 2nd, 2017.  We will walk as a unified community (those with housing and those without) along the same route that many of our guests take each day from the overnight shelters (Missions) to the Murphy Center.

The goals of the event are to:

  1. Raise awareness for homelessness
  2. Come together as a unified community
  3. Share the Murphy Center with our community (Open House)
  4. Raise funding for the Murphy Center

There are three ticketing options (including ways you can help even if you can’t participate in the walk itself):

  1. Purchase tickets to walk for yourself, family, and friends
  2. Purchase a ticket to sponsor a guest (or guests) of the Murphy Center (someone receiving MC services) to walk, spend the morning at the Murphy Center, and receive lunch.
  3. Donate to the Murphy Center

You can also write a check and mail it to the Murphy Center and let us know the name of each person you are purchasing tickets for and if you are purchasing tickets for us to sponsor guests of the Murphy Center.  Mail checks to Murphy Center, Attn: Ken John, 242 Conifer Street, Fort Collins, CO  80524.  Each ticket is $25.

Businesses, Churches, and Other Groups can sponsor the event for $250 and in addition to receiving a great deal of community exposure (Facebook, e-Newsletter, MC Open House Banner, etc) you will receive 2 free walk tickets and sponsor 2 guests of the Murphy Center (those receiving services) to a morning at the center and lunch!!  Contact Ken John if you are interested in a sponsorship.

If you intend to join us in the walk and are looking for an additional way to help benefit the people we serve, we encourage participating in a gear donation in conjunction with the walk. Please feel free to pack along with you any high demand winter items (listed below). Just like the guests we serve, you must carry these items with you for the length of the walk, where you can then drop off your donations at the Murphy Center at the end. Items that are in high demand for winter months include:

Hats, gloves, socks, footwear, jackets, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, blankets, hand-warmers, tents/tarps, coats, backpacks, and daypacks.

”The Murphy Center was completely instrumental in all facets of help that I needed. The smiles and encouragement here made all the difference. In fact, everything I now enjoy is a direct result of the many resources and services that the Murphy Center offers. I am extremely grateful that such a place is in existence, otherwise I’m not certain what my circumstances would be at this time in my life.”   David

Event Sponsors

The Murphy Center hosts two main fundraising and awareness-building events each year, the Murphy Center Community Dinner and the Mission to Hope Walk.   For each of those events, we strive to spend as little as possible — that way, most of (or in some cases, everything) we raise can go to programs and services for people experiencing homelessness or those in jeopardy of becoming homeless.  This would not be possible without our event sponsors — companies, foundations and individuals — who donate in-kind or with direct funding to cover the costs of our events.  We would like to thank the following Event Sponsors:
